(This poem is Still in the works!)
Did you love me?
How you messed up my life,
how you messed up my past,
and how you messed up my soul
A child at 5
Fragile and innocent
How you ripped her soul apart, her life
Tore your own flesh and bone,
Put your filthy hands on the very ones you said you
“loved”
You say you love me
And every time you did
My young heart believes
It struggles to believe
Because if they were true
How beautiful life would be.
“If Mommy and Daddy could finally be together again”
This was only wish
As my minds struggles to forget you, my heart struggles to believe in you
How can a daughter forget her father
Her other half
The ones who helped bring her into this world
And I thank you for that
But let’s just leave it at that
As my heart continues to tremble for the impossible ending
As tears roll down my eyes
As my throat stiffens from the very thought you
I stop
Because as much as I wanted to believe in you
Nothing you can do, can undo
your past
our past
So I continue to say what I always say
How can I ever call you my father….
When father is just a name.
